Treatments
Podiatrists can treat & diagnose a wide range of foot conditions so if you cannot find what you are looking for in the following list, don’t panic.  Below is a list of the MOST COMMON treatments on offer at ‘The Works’ clinic.
Diabetic Foot Assessment & Treatment
(Includes GP report on risk factors identified/patient copy)
Treatment includes a full skin/nail assessment, Vascular/Doppler assessment and neurological assessment.  An ABPI test will be included for those thought to be at greater risk of vascular compromise to the lower limb.  Risk status will be identified, and a tailor-made treatment plan and advice (if required) will be discussed. This also includes ‘The Works’ treatment.
The Works
A complete overhaul for your feet including nail cut/reduction/organic nail oil hydration application. Callus & corn removal/sanding/smoothing followed by an application of a sumptuous foot cream selected to suit your skin type.  Tailor made advice to ensure you get the most out of your foot appointment.
Express Nails
Nail cut/reduction with organic nail oil hydration application.
(All the trimmings but no fuss).
The 'Niggling' Ingrown Toe Nail
For those with a painful, tender or oozy nail.  Treatment includes trimming the nail and removing the ingrown part to allow the toe to settle. Application of an appropriate dressing and Antibiotic GP request if the toe is infected.  Discussion as to whether nail surgery may be required
One-Hit Wonder Corn Removal
Removal of one corn/callus & sanding/smoothing of the skin.
(Quick BUT effective).
Veruca Pedis
Verruca debridement, with choice of three treatments.
Targeted prescription only 60% Salicylic Acid
Targeted liquid nitrogen (freezing).
For a more harmonious and less invasive approach, ‘Body Essentials’ organic oil remedy is available.
Choice dependant on assessment/suitability.
Nail Surgery
Removal of part (PNA) or all (TNA) of an ingrown toenail with a local anaesthetic (LA).   Includes application of the chemical Phenol to prevent* nail regrowth of the removed portion of nail.  Includes three follow up appointments post-surgery.  (Nail surgery with phenolization is successful in 94% of cases, 6% may have some regrowth of the removed portion of nail).
Biomechanical Assessment
Pain and injury to the lower limb and foot can often be prevented once the cause has been identified.  A full biomechanical assessment will help to identify the underlying cause with an aim to putting it right. Treatment includes a full biomechanical assessment with treatment plan (may include exercise regime/orthoses/anti-inflammatories/onward referral if necessary.
